Freelance 3D Animator

Let There Be is a science marketing agency that helps leading healthcare brands communicate and visualize science in clear, ownable, regulatory-approved ways. Our work spans animation, motion graphics, illustration, and visual storytelling. There’s no established playbook for visualizing mechanisms of action, biology, or scientific breakthroughs for everyday consumers — our team is helping invent that language.

This is a contract-to-ongoing opportunity. To ensure we’re a mutual fit for style, communication, and workflow, we start with one initial test project. If it aligns well, we intend to establish a consistent, ongoing freelance partnership for future assignments.

• Rate — $25.00–$40.00 USD / hour, paid via invoice as an independent contractor.
• Time commitment — highly flexible and project-dependent; a single project typically averages 100–200 hours across 2–3 months.
• Workflow — assigned per project; scale your capacity based on availability and your schedule.
• Location — fully remote. Availability for review meetings during Eastern Time business hours is expected when active on a project.

• 3D look-dev & animation — model, texture, light, rig, and animate high-quality 3D assets and environments to the established visual system.
• Visual storytelling — translate complex biological, chemical, or medical concepts into clear, beautiful, regulatory-approved visuals.
• Creative collaboration — work closely with the Art Director and Creative Director on visual trajectory, deadlines, and deliverables, turning feedback into polished final assets.

• Proven experience — a strong 3D portfolio across multiple art styles, with strong design capabilities and an eye for high-quality visual storytelling.
• Technical proficiency — fluid dynamics (FLIP/SPH solvers), soft-body and cloth dynamics, procedural organic/biological simulations, PBR texturing, and advanced lighting/rendering.
• Communication & remote setup — reliable remote environment, high-speed internet, and clear audio for virtual syncs.
• Professional reliability — self-motivated, communicates proactively, hits milestones under tight timelines, and tracks time accurately.
• Openness to AI-assisted workflows and emerging visual tools.

When a project arises that’s a strong match, we’ll discuss scope, timeline, and rate, then kick off with a single paid pilot project. A successful pilot is the foundation for an ongoing freelance partnership.
